A few things about me. I'm a journalism major with hopes to work on editorial magazines, multimedia content and entertainment. Before San Diego State University, I went to Grossmont College for two years and then transferred. At first, I never knew the real reason why I chose journalism. All I knew was I loved writing and I spent a good amount of time on social media. One thing I noticed while scrolling through my phone was that I would get news everywhere.
I then became fascinated by editorial magazines, specifically fashion and expressing opinions. I'm also someone who is a big fan of celebrities and I always wondered how those interviewers are able to talk to and interview these celebrities. Turns out they all have experience in the journalism field. I always thought journalism was only focused on broadcasting, reporting or writing articles about what's happening around us. That doesn't mean those topics aren't important, but it also comes to show how versatile journalism can be. In the beginning, I had no idea if I was even choosing the right major. I wasn't even sure if journalism was even for me, but after spending time looking the different fields I can get into, I knew I made a good choice.
